UK Evidence Gaps and Research Priorities
Natural England, Natural Resources Wales, and NatureScot have developed a database to identify critical knowledge gaps in coastal habitats across the UK, including sand dunes, shingle, cliffs, and machair. This tool aims to support effective conservation management by guiding research priorities.
The database serves as a foundation for fostering collaboration and developing research projects with real-world applications. These initiatives may include directly commissioning key studies or co-supervising PhD students to align academic research with practical conservation goals.
